KZN-12: Cutting Edge Learning, a provincial educational publication, is a partnership initiative between the KZNDoE, Umbele Wolwazi Education Trust and KraftMedia Publishers. This A3, 16- page educational publication is provided free-of-charge to all secondary schools via the KZN Department of Education Provincial National Strategy for Learner Attainment (NSLA) structures. Currently 100 000 copies are published per edition, with eight editions being produced annually. The publication comprises of academic content in the main, with some life skills and educational management content, and educational news.

The publication also enjoys the support of strategic social partners such as the KZN Department of Education, the KZN Department of Sport & Recreation, ENGEN, Parents Association of KZN (PAKZN); the Moses Kotane Institute, SmartLearner and SADTU (the largest teacher union). The content is complemented by the KZN12 website (www.kzn12.co.za) and have also been supported by the on-air tuitions on the SABC stations, Ukhozi FM and Lotus FM, as well the community radio station Good News Community Radio (GNCR).
